Busan Transportation Corporation Wins Bronze at the 27th Beautiful Restroom Awards
Sinjangnim Station Restroom Highly Praised for Bright, Open Design and User-Friendly Features
Busan Transportation Corporation (President Lee Byungjin) announced on November 10 that the restroom at Sinjangnim Station on Busan Metro Line 1 received the Bronze Prize (Minister of the Interior and Safety Award) at the 27th Beautiful Restroom Awards.
The Beautiful Restroom Awards is a nationwide competition jointly organized every year by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Korea Toilet Association, aiming to promote the spread of safe and convenient restroom culture.
This year, 75 locations from across the country participated, and 27 were ultimately selected.
Completed in 2016, the Sinjangnim Station restroom is located in an underground station, but natural light enters through the ceiling at the entrance, creating a bright and open atmosphere.
In addition, the interior features gold-toned cubicle partitions that add warmth, as well as a user-friendly layout that received high praise, including a low sink for children and the elderly, a family restroom, and a spacious L-shaped powder room.
Since 2006, a total of 15 urban railway station restrooms, including Sinjangnim Station this year, have been selected as Beautiful Restrooms, establishing Busan Transportation Corporation as a leading institution in the advancement of modern restroom culture.
