The event featured a variety of hands-on programs that pet owners and their dogs could enjoy and learn from together, including: a companion animal culture class; a dog treasure hunt and "wait" competition; dog sports experiences, grooming classes, and walking behavior education; and a talk concert with dog trainer Song Sangjin.
In particular, the freestyle frisbee performance and agility demonstration by a professional dog sports team received an enthusiastic response from the audience.
Hanam City operated a promotional booth for the adoption of stray dogs, sharing the stories of dogs under protection with citizens and helping them find new families. The booth, where citizens considering adoption could meet and bond with the dogs in person, attracted many visitors.
One citizen who participated in the event said, "I am deeply grateful to Hanam City for creating the Misa Island Pet Zone so that pet owners and their dogs can enjoy together, and for organizing such a meaningful companion animal culture festival. I could really feel Hanam City developing further as a pet-friendly city."
Lee Hyun-jae, Mayor of Hanam City, stated, "The Misa Island Pet Zone, established as a pledge project of the 8th popularly elected administration, has become a leading cultural space for citizens and their dogs. We will continue to promote various policies and festivals that allow pet owners and non-pet owners to coexist."
