Kim Hyunjung of Democratic Party: "This Audit Proved the People Power Party Is a Party Without the People"
Rebuttal to People Power Party's Claim of a 'National Assembly Audit Without Kim Hyunji'
"They Must Take Seriously the Public's Criticism That the People Power Party Is a Burden on the People"
Kim Hyunjung, the floor spokesperson for the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized the opposition party, stating, "This year's National Assembly audit proved that the People Power Party is a party without the people."
On the 7th, in a written briefing, Kim said, "While the People Power Party claimed this was a 'National Assembly audit without Kim Hyunji,' the public shook their heads, calling it a 'People Power Party without the people.'"
She criticized, "The People Power Party spent the first National Assembly audit of the Lee Jaemyung administration solely stalking Kim Hyunji, the Presidential Secretary for Aides. The People Power Party demanded Kim's appearance as a witness in all six standing committees, raising irrelevant issues such as the replacement of the lawyer for former Gyeonggi Province Vice Governor for Peace Lee Hwayoung, the Daejang-dong and Baekhyeon-dong development projects, and even making absurd ideological accusations about following Kim Il-sung, none of which are related to the work of the presidential office."
Kim went on to say, "It may be possible for Jang Donghyuk, the leader of the People Power Party, who claims to live in all six of his houses, to attend and answer at all six standing committees, but it is impossible for anyone else."
She added, "Furthermore, even though there is no precedent for the Presidential Secretary for Aides to attend the audit, the Democratic Party accepted the People Power Party's demand and even proposed that morning attendance would be possible. The President also instructed Kim to remain on standby within the compound in the afternoon. Nevertheless, it was the People Power Party that refused until the end."
Kim emphasized, "What the public wanted from this audit was an audit focused on people's livelihoods and a thorough investigation into the insurrection. However, the People Power Party was preoccupied with concealing the truth about the insurrection and only fueled baseless suspicions and political strife."

I hope they take seriously the public's criticism that 'the People Power Party is a burden on the people.'"
