"Not Prepared"... Jeonnam Provincial Council Suspends Audit of Yeosun Incident Support Group
Committee: "Unable to Explain Key Projects, Audit Impossible"
Re-examination and Re-audit Planned... Concerns Over Administrative Credibility
The Planning and Administration Committee of the Jeonnam Provincial Council suspended the administrative audit midway, citing the Yeosun Incident Support Group's inadequate preparation for the audit.
On November 6, the Planning and Administration Committee conducted an on-site audit of the Yeosun Incident Support Group at the Eastern Regional Headquarters of Jeonnam Province in Suncheon. However, the committee announced that the audit was temporarily suspended when the head of the support group failed to properly answer key questions.

However, during the questioning, the head of the Yeosun Incident Support Group was unable to clearly explain the status of major projects and the detailed budget execution. Instead, he repeatedly responded, "I will report after confirming," or "I will submit it separately," which effectively led to the suspension of the audit.
The committee determined that, due to insufficient preparation, it would be difficult to achieve the original purpose of the administrative audit and, with the unanimous agreement of all members, decided to temporarily suspend the audit.
The committee requested that the Yeosun Incident Support Group re-examine the progress of its projects, fully familiarize itself with its work, and sincerely participate in the re-audit.
Kang Moonseong, Chair of the Planning and Administration Committee, stated, "The administrative audit is an institutional procedure to ensure that the administration is fulfilling its role on behalf of the residents." He pointed out, "If you cannot clearly explain the projects you are carrying out, you are not fulfilling your responsibility to the residents." He added, "If the audit is not properly prepared, even the residents' right to know cannot be guaranteed."
