"Citizen Safety Comes First"... Busan Transportation Corporation Implements Special Transport Measures for Busan Fireworks Festival
200 Additional Train Runs, 2,400 Safety Personnel Deployed
President Lee Byungjin: "Please Actively Cooperate with On-site Guidance"
Busan Transportation Corporation (President Lee Byungjin) will implement special measures to ensure the safe transportation of citizens ahead of the 20th Busan Fireworks Festival, which will be held on the 15th in the Gwangalli Beach area (near Gwangalli and Geumnyeonsan Stations on Line 2).
Anticipating large crowds on the day of the festival, the corporation has established a comprehensive transportation response system, which includes pre-inspections of major stations, increasing the number of train operations, and deploying additional safety personnel.
On this day, President Lee Byungjin inspected the safety management measures for each sector at the corporation's emergency situation room, and then personally visited six major stations-Gwangalli, Geumnyeonsan, Suyeong, Namcheon, Seomyeon, and Yeonsan-to check on-site preparations.
While reviewing station movement routes and convenience facilities, President Lee emphasized, "Safety must come before anything else," and urged thorough management of citizen safety.

As a result, the train intervals before the main event (16:00-19:00) will be shortened from the existing 5-8 minutes to 4.5-6 minutes, and after the event (20:00-22:00), from 8-10 minutes to 3-5 minutes.
The revised train schedules can be found on the Busan Transportation Corporation website, the Busan Metro mobile app, and notices posted in each station.
To prevent safety accidents, a total of 2,443 available personnel (including 1,362 safety support staff) will be deployed on-site.
These personnel will be concentrated at major and transfer stations such as Gwangalli, Geumnyeonsan, Suyeong, and Seomyeon, where they will be responsible for passenger guidance, maintaining order, and resolving disruptions.
Additionally, due to the 'G-Star 2025' event being held at BEXCO near Centum City Station on Line 2 on the same day, congestion is expected around Suyeong Station between 17:00 and 19:00.
The corporation recommended that passengers using Suyeong Station during this time use external exits for walking routes. After the event, passengers are advised to use Suyeong, Geumnyeonsan, or Namcheon Stations instead of Gwangalli Station.
In case of congestion inside stations, step-by-step entry control will be implemented in the order of external entrance → gate → platform.
