On November 4, the Little Star Daycare Center in Buk-myeon visited the smart farm and held a parent participation class. The children enjoyed observing plants together with their parents, and both parents and staff responded positively to the opportunity for diverse experiences and learning in such a nearby location.
The renewable energy smart farm greenhouse, established in the Wolhak-ri Environmental Resource Center area of Buk-myeon, covers a total area of 4,950 square meters and was completed last year. The advanced cultivation system, which utilizes waste heat from the adjacent Environmental Resource Center’s incinerator and solar power for heating, is attracting nationwide attention.
Meanwhile, the smart farm is also being used as a practical training site for next-generation farmers, return-to-farming and rural migrants, crop-specific research groups, and chrysanthemum bonsai education, among others. In March, the effectiveness of technology-focused education was demonstrated by successfully cultivating tomatoes through a field-based "smart bed" training program.
