Kakao Pay and Korea University to Hold Seminar on "Advancing Financial MyData"
"Creating Services Through AI Integration Is Key"
Kakao Pay announced on November 4 that it will co-host a seminar with the Korea University Center for Law & Technology Policy on November 11 at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Jung-gu, Seoul, under the theme "Challenges for Advancing Financial MyData."
This year, Kakao Pay became the first company in Korea to surpass 20 million MyData subscribers. This means that more than half of Korea's working-age population (ages 15 to 64) are using Kakao Pay's asset management services.
The seminar will feature two presentations and a comprehensive panel discussion on institutional and service advancement strategies in the era of MyData 2.0.
In the first session, Lee Jaekeun, Head of Data Strategy Business Party at Kakao Pay, will give a presentation on "Tasks for Advancing MyData to Enhance and Protect Financial Consumer Benefits."
In the second session, Kang Hyunjung, attorney at Kim & Chang, will present on "Legal Challenges for Expanding Financial MyData Services Through Artificial Intelligence (AI) Integration."
The comprehensive panel discussion will be chaired by Professor Lee Sungyeop of Korea University, and will include Lotte Members CEO Kim Hyeju, Jung Sunggu, attorney at Shin & Kim, Joo Minseok, attorney at HwaWoo, Jin Hyeongu, Executive Vice President of Compliance and Financial Consumer Protection at Kakao Pay, Lee Youngjong, Ph.D. at the Korea Information Society Development Institute, and Seo Nayoon, Director of the Data Policy Division at the Financial Services Commission.
