The district also held an inauguration ceremony and the first meeting for the Residents Jury Panel, laying the foundation for an objective and transparent evaluation of its pledges.
This review meeting was the first official assessment held since the establishment of the 8th administration’s pledge implementation plan. The meeting shared the progress and supplementary tasks for a total of 95 pledge projects. To date, 25 projects have been completed, while 68 projects are proceeding as planned. For 32 projects where difficulties are anticipated, the district focused on discussing department-specific improvement measures and the feasibility of implementation.
Guro District plans to move beyond simply diagnosing the status of pledges and will focus on achieving tangible results that residents can truly feel. To this end, the district has formed a Residents Jury Panel to directly reflect the voices of residents in the evaluation of pledges.
The Residents Jury Panel consists of 32 district residents selected by random draw, taking into account gender, age, and region, in cooperation with the Korea Manifesto Center. The panel held its first meeting on the 22nd of last month and will hold two additional meetings on the 5th and 19th of this month to provide opinions on the adjustment and implementation plans for the pledges. These resident opinions will serve as key reference materials for any future changes to pledges or when setting project priorities.
The district expects that this pledge review meeting and the operation of the Residents Jury Panel will strengthen administrative transparency and credibility, while also providing an opportunity to enhance the effectiveness of pledge implementation.
