Currently, about 70 members are active. Beyond fostering camaraderie, the association contributes to the university’s development through various activities, including donating scholarships for students, supporting the cultivation of female talent, and running community-linked programs.
The association’s donations to the university’s development fund began with their first contribution in 2003 and have continued for more than 20 years. Notably, from 2022 to 2024, they donated an additional 50 million won, and this year, another 9 million won, bringing their cumulative donations to over 140 million won. Each semester, scholarships are awarded to three students, and the tradition of giving, started by the association’s senior professors, continues to be passed down through generations.
Ahn Okhee, President of the Women Professors' Association and Professor in the Department of Housing and Interior Design, stated, "I am proud that the tradition of the Women Professors' Association coming together for our students has continued for such a long time," adding, "I hope the students who receive these scholarships will devote themselves to their studies and, when they go out into society, practice the values of sharing and consideration."
Lee Kyungsoo, Vice President for External Cooperation, who attended the event, remarked, "The steady donations and dedication of the professors in the Women Professors' Association have deeply moved everyone at the university. I hope this warm-hearted spirit will serve as a model for students and help them grow into individuals who practice sharing in the future. The university will also provide more systematic support to ensure the professors’ intentions are carried on."
