Three Munsan Basketball Courts Opened... Expansion of Everyday Sports Facilities
Paju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on November 3 that it has completed the 'Munsan Basketball Court Construction Project' and opened the facility to the public starting from October 25.
This project began on July 25 and, after about two months of construction, resulted in the creation of three courts (one full court and two half courts). The Munsan Basketball Court was built reflecting the opinions of local youth and is part of Paju City's ongoing policy to expand infrastructure for everyday sports activities.
Previously, in August 2024, Paju City communicated with local youth during a mobile mayor's office event held at the Munsan Youth Center and received a proposal highlighting the shortage of basketball courts in the Munsan area. In response, Mayor Kim Kyoungil pledged to establish two basketball courts in the area by 2025, and with the completion of the Munsan Basketball Court, this promise has been faithfully fulfilled.
Munsan-eup is an area where demand for sports activities continues to rise, and the installation of the basketball court is expected to contribute to improving residents' physical fitness and fostering a healthy leisure culture. Additionally, by utilizing the existing Munsancheon walking trails and green spaces, an environment has been created where citizens can enjoy a wider variety of healthy outdoor activities.
