Namyangju City Council Hosts 7th Chairman's Cup Drone Competition
Namyangju City Council in Gyeonggi Province, led by Chairman Cho Seongdae, announced on the 1st that it held the 7th Namyangju City Council Chairman's Cup Drone Competition at the Namyangju Sports and Culture Center Gateball Field.

View original imageThis competition, co-hosted by Namyangju City Council and Namyangju Sports Association and organized by the Namyangju Drone Aviation Association, was designed to promote the spread of drone activities and encourage sports for all. Targeted at elementary and middle school students, it was selected for the first time this year as part of the 7th Namyangju City Council Chairman's Cup Sports Competition.
Prior to the start of the competition, the opening ceremony was attended by Cho Seongdae, Chairman of Namyangju City Council; Lee Jinhwan, Chair of the Steering Committee; Han Geunsu, Chair of the Autonomous Administration Committee; Deputy Mayor Hong Jisun; Park Junjin, President of the Namyangju Drone Aviation Association; and other executives. The ceremony included introductions of distinguished guests, an opening declaration, a welcoming address and the presentation of the Chairman's Award, congratulatory and encouraging remarks, and a commemorative photo session.
In his address, Chairman Cho Seongdae welcomed the parents and students participating in the event, stating, "This year, for the first time, the Chairman's Cup Drone Competition has been selected as a competition category specifically for students, rather than being adult-centered."
He continued, "Drones have evolved beyond being a simple hobby or sport to become a core technology leading future industries. In particular, their rapid response has proven invaluable in disaster situations, playing a significant role in saving lives."

Chairman Cho added, "Today, there will be a demonstration match of drone soccer prepared by friends from the Welfare Center for the Disabled. This match will show that sports can transcend generational and disability barriers, allowing everyone to enjoy them together. I sincerely hope that all the participants in today's competition will one day become leading drone experts representing Korea."
