Prime Minister Kim Minseok met with Jane Fraser, CEO of Citigroup, who visited Korea on October 31 to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) CEO Summit in Gyeongju, and asked for her interest in the National Growth Fund, which is valued at 150 trillion won.

View original imageAccording to the Office for Government Policy Coordination, Prime Minister Kim met with CEO Fraser at the Gyeongju Arts Center in the afternoon of the same day and said, "Our government is working to upgrade the entire production structure of the Korean economy based on artificial intelligence (AI) to achieve super-innovation that surpasses competing countries. To this end, we are planning to establish a National Growth Fund worth 150 trillion won."
Prime Minister Kim emphasized, "For the National Growth Fund envisioned by the Korean government and the implementation of large-scale projects through it, participation from global capital is extremely important. If Citibank, which has operated in Korea for a long time and has a deep understanding of the market, takes a leading role, it will create opportunities to expand added value and enhance its status in the region." He requested Citigroup's interest and participation.
