Under the agreement, the parties will cooperate in various areas, including: ▲collaboration and mutual promotion/support for railway tourism projects, ▲information sharing and joint support, and ▲other matters requiring business linkage and cooperation.
Additionally, both sides exchanged a variety of opinions on topics such as the joint operation of Suburban Line tourism products, the development of programs linked to local commercial districts, and the creation of tourism infrastructure, reportedly outlining a blueprint for a practical cooperation system.
Mayor Kang Suhyun stated, "This agreement will serve as an opportunity to take our railway tourism projects, which have been underway since the reopening of the Suburban Line, to the next level. We plan to establish a Yangju-style tourism model that enables both railways and tourism to grow together, delivering tangible results that both citizens and visitors can experience."
Meanwhile, in May, the city operated a "Suburban Line Themed Tourism Product" in collaboration with the Seoul Headquarters of Korea Railroad Corporation and KORAIL Tourism Development Co., Ltd. In August, it opened a tourist information center at Ilyeong Station. These efforts are part of a range of projects aimed at revitalizing tourism in the Jangheung area following the reopening of the Suburban Line.
