Doosan Forms Strategic Alliance with NVIDIA for 'Physical AI'... Boosting Construction Machinery and Robotics Technology
Physical AI to Be Introduced Across All Business Sectors, Including Construction Machinery, Power Equipment, and Robotics
Customized Models to Be Built on NVIDIA Infrastructure
Global Ecosystem Collaboration Expands Following Stanford Partnership
Doosan is partnering with NVIDIA, a leading company in the era of artificial intelligence (AI), to strengthen its 'Physical AI' technology. By advancing the intelligence of its core business areas-such as construction machinery, power equipment, and robotics-the company plans to accelerate AI-based manufacturing innovation.
On October 31, Doosan announced that it has begun a strategic collaboration with NVIDIA to enhance Physical AI. The two companies aim to train NVIDIA’s Physical AI technology with Doosan’s business data in order to develop a customized foundation model (FM) optimized for Doosan.
A foundation model refers to an AI neural network trained on vast amounts of data. It can perform a wide range of tasks, from text translation to robotics. Notable examples include OpenAI’s GPT and NVIDIA’s Cosmos.
Doosan possesses operational data accumulated in fields such as construction machinery, power equipment, and industrial robots. The company plans to train AI models with this data to implement on-site customized services and gradually introduce specialized Physical AI tailored to each business sector.
The two companies will pursue comprehensive cooperation, including: utilizing NVIDIA’s Physical AI modeling, simulation technology, and AI infrastructure; providing Doosan with priority access to new AI technologies and technical support; and conducting regular exchanges between research teams. In addition, they will jointly promote the expansion of NVIDIA’s AI platform in the domestic market in the future.
A Doosan representative stated, “NVIDIA possesses unrivaled technological capabilities in the AI ecosystem,” adding, “Through our collaboration, we aim to secure a competitive edge in the field of Physical AI.”
