Daejeon City Offers "KAPLA Experience" for Young Children and Families
Stacking Wooden Plank Blocks in the Forest
Fostering Creativity and Spatial Perception
A hands-on experience site has been set up in the forest where children and families can enjoy building with wooden plank blocks for free, unleashing their limitless creativity.
The city of Daejeon is offering a "KAPLA Experience" at the Bomunsan Happy Forest Trail Support Center, located in Daesa-dong, Jung-gu, targeting children in lower grades of elementary school and their families. The activity involves stacking wooden planks.
KAPLA is an educational tool consisting of simple wooden planks in a 15:3:1 ratio, which can be stacked to create a variety of structures using balance and imagination. It is known to help develop creative expression.
This experience provides participants with the opportunity to express infinite creativity through simple shapes, while naturally learning the principles of balance and center of gravity. It is also expected to help develop concentration, patience, and spatial perception.
The "KAPLA Experience" runs every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., from October to December. Citizens who wish to participate can visit the Bomunsan Happy Forest Trail Support Center (2nd floor classroom) during the operating period.
