Yongin SMEs Achieve $49.5 Million in Export Consultations in Australia and Dubai
14 Local Companies Participate in Australian Market Development Delegation and Dubai Beauty Exhibition
On October 31, the Yongin City Government in Gyeonggi Province announced that local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) participating in the Australian Overseas Market Development Delegation and the "Beautyworld Middle East 2025" cosmetics and beauty exhibition in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, achieved a total of 222 export consultations amounting to 34.91 million US dollars (approximately 49.5 billion KRW).

View original imageFrom October 20 to 26, ten SMEs based in Yongin and representatives from the Gyeonggi Business & Science Accelerator, the implementing agency, participated in the Australian Overseas Market Development Delegation meetings held in Sydney and Melbourne.
During the event, companies specializing in processed foods, household goods, and eco-friendly products conducted 87 consultations, resulting in discussions worth 3.74 million US dollars. Metasonic, a manufacturer of beauty devices, held meetings with six local buyers and sold on-site samples worth 4,600 US dollars. The company is currently engaged in detailed negotiations to further expand exports.
From October 27 to 29, four local cosmetics and beauty specialist companies participated in the cosmetics and beauty exhibition held in Dubai. The participating companies conducted 136 export consultations totaling 31.17 million US dollars.
For this support program, the city government provided assistance with a portion of airfare, exhibition booth rental, interpretation and translation services, buyer discovery, and preliminary market research. The city also plans to operate a follow-up management program to help ensure that the consultation results lead to actual contracts.
Lee Sangil, Mayor of Yongin, stated, "Through export consultations in Australia and Dubai, we have confirmed that local companies possess sufficient competitiveness in overseas markets. Moving forward, we will implement various support policies to help our companies further expand their global reach."
