K-Content Companies Achieve Over 100 Billion Won in Licensing Markets in Europe and China
Transaction Amount Up 24% Year-on-Year
Aurora World, The Pinkfong Company Among Participants
Korean content companies have achieved results worth around 100 billion won in the European and Chinese licensing markets.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency announced on October 31 that they established a Korea Pavilion at licensing exhibitions held this month in London, United Kingdom, and Shanghai, China, facilitating 717 business meetings and generating $76.69 million (approximately 109 billion won) in deals. Compared to the previous year, the number of meetings increased by 50%, and the transaction amount rose by 24%.
At "Brand Licensing Europe" in London, ten companies, including Daewon Media, The Pinkfong Company, and Aurora World, participated. They conducted 400 business meetings and achieved $20.17 million (about 28.7 billion won) in results. Notably, Aurora World signed a contract with a UK distributor to commercialize stationery and gift items using the "Palm Pals" IP.
At the "China Licensing Expo" in Shanghai, twenty-five companies took part, holding 317 meetings and recording $56.52 million (approximately 80.3 billion won) in deals. Aurora World signed a licensing agreement for gift products with Shanghai Eurofield, while Toytron entered into an agreement with Zhome Trading to participate in the Shanghai Import Expo. K-Vision also decided to collaborate with a local company to develop museum souvenirs and jointly develop content.
