BNK Financial Group Launches Maritime Finance Future Strategy Think Lab
BNK Financial Group announced on October 30 that it will sequentially launch research organizations focused on maritime finance, consumer protection, and AI·digital initiatives, primarily composed of external experts. This move is in response to the government's AI·digital activation policy and the Financial Services Commission's three major financial policy directions, including productive finance.
To align with the government's productive finance policy and to lead the regionally specialized maritime finance sector, BNK Financial Group will establish the 'Maritime Finance Future Strategy Think Lab' at Busan Bank and hold its official launch ceremony on November 3. The formation of this think lab was prompted by the relocation of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries to Busan, aiming to address the increasing financial demand in the maritime industry and to systematically develop financial strategies for realizing the vision of 'Maritime Capital Busan.'
Through this initiative, BNK Financial Group plans to envision the future ecosystem of the maritime industry and regional finance, discover new growth drivers linked to the maritime sector, and contribute to balanced regional development and the enhancement of national maritime industry competitiveness.
The think lab will be operated by external experts in relevant fields and working-level staff from Busan Bank. The duration is set until March of next year, with regular monthly meetings and ad-hoc sessions to conduct in-depth research on maritime-related topics.
In particular, the group will focus on analyzing external environments and financial demands resulting from changes in maritime-related policies, and on deriving strategic business proposals and implementation plans linked to maritime industry clusters. The research outcomes will be used in establishing future management strategies for the group and plans for promoting regionally specialized finance.
