KOSME Launches AX Innovation Committee
Establishing a Company-Wide AI Strategy
Strengthening the Role as a Control Tower
Tailored Support for AI Transformation of SMEs and Startups
The Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) announced on the 30th that it held an inauguration ceremony for the 'AX Innovation Committee' to support the successful artificial intelligence transformation (AX) of small and medium-sized enterprises and startups.
The AX Innovation Committee is a top-level decision-making body on AX matters, operating directly under the chairman, established to enhance the competitiveness and ensure the sustainable growth of small and medium-sized enterprises and startups. The committee is a public-private cooperative governance body composed of external experts, the KOSME chairman, and executives. It serves to review and advise on AX support for SMEs and startups, KOSME’s company-wide AI strategy development, and other major initiatives.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by over 30 participants, including eight AI experts from various sectors such as industry, academia, and research who were appointed as committee members, as well as the KOSME chairman, executive directors, and members of the AI Innovation Task Force. During the event, KOSME’s basic AX direction and examples of AX support for companies were shared, and an expert panel discussion was held on the topic, "The Role of KOSME in the Era of AI Transformation."
In the keynote address, Jeong Kwonwoo, Technical Leader at Naver Cloud, emphasized, "Instead of indiscriminate AI adoption, it is necessary to support tailored AI implementation for each company." Park Minjun, CEO of RyttonAX, suggested that KOSME should act as a platform connecting companies with technological capabilities and those with demand for such technologies.
Kang Seokjin, Chairman of KOSME, stated, "The AX Innovation Committee will serve as an execution-oriented control tower that accelerates AI transformation for companies and fosters a sustainable AI innovation ecosystem. Going forward, we will continue to provide comprehensive support so that companies can grow based on AI."
