Gijang County in Busan Sees Strong Response to "Newlywed Happiness Kit Campaign"
Leading the Way in Pre-parental Health Management and Addressing Low Birth Rates
The "Newlywed Happiness Kit Campaign," launched by Gijang County (Governor Jeong Jongbok) to address low birth rates and promote a healthy family culture, has received a positive response.
According to Gijang County on October 30, this campaign was designed to encourage a culture in which couples prepare for pregnancy together. It was organized by the county health center and held twice during the year, once in the first half and once in the second half.
The first campaign took place in June in the lobby on the first floor of the Gijang County Office, targeting engaged couples and those preparing for pregnancy. At the event, the county distributed "Pregnancy Preparation Guides for Prospective Parents" along with "Happiness Kits" containing ovulation and pregnancy test kits, while also promoting the importance of pre-pregnancy health management.
On October 15, the campaign continued in the second half of the year at the Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Kori Nuclear Power Headquarters, where there is a high proportion of young workers. The county focused on spreading the message that "a healthy pregnancy begins with preparation," and worked to foster a culture of pre-pregnancy health management in the workplace as well.
