The city focused on creating transportation infrastructure to proactively address the rapidly increasing traffic volume and to significantly enhance convenience for local residents.
Construction began in October 2024.
The opening ceremony was attended by Mayor Joo Gwangdeok, city council members, local residents, and related public officials, and included a progress report and an on-site event celebrating the completion of the road.
In Wabu-eup, the redevelopment of apartments within the Deokso Redevelopment Promotion District is expected to increase traffic volume. The existing roads are narrow alleys less than 4 meters wide, making it difficult for construction vehicles to pass in both directions, raising concerns about severe traffic congestion in the area.
The city explained that, as the existing six-lane road required a long detour and caused significant inconvenience for residents, it proactively pushed forward with the "Deokso Sampaeg IC to Deokso District Connecting Road Construction Project" to resolve these issues.
