Among the students in the Department of Electrical Engineering, 3 obtained the Electrical Engineer certification, 2 earned the Electrical Construction Engineer certification, 1 received the Fire Protection Facilities Engineer (Electrical) certification, 17 acquired the Industrial Engineer (Electrical) certification, and 3 obtained the Industrial Engineer (Electrical Construction) certification, bringing the total to 26 students who earned certifications.
In particular, the Electrical Engineer certification is a legally required qualification for electrical safety managers in buildings above a certain size, and is considered one of the most in-demand and challenging exams in the industry.
In the first round of this year's exam, a total of 11,441 people took the test, but only 802 ultimately passed, resulting in a pass rate of about 7%. Among them, three second-year students from vocational colleges obtained the certification, which is regarded as evidence of the educational competitiveness of the Department of Electrical Engineering.
As part of its systematic support for certification acquisition, the Department of Electrical Engineering at Gyeongnam Information College operates a "special certification class" as an extracurricular program in addition to regular coursework. Through practice-oriented professional education, the department has provided an optimized learning environment for certification exams.
In fact, Koo Kyobin, a second-year student in the Department of Electrical Engineering who obtained three national technical certifications (Electrical Engineer, Electrical Construction Engineer, and Industrial Safety Engineer) and successfully secured employment, said, "Thanks to the special certification class run by the department, I was able to prepare for all the essential qualifications needed for the field and quickly found a job. I highly recommend participation to my juniors as well."
