[Conference Call] SK Hynix: "Semiconductor Supercycle Will Be Prolonged"
On October 29, during the 2025 third quarter earnings conference call, SK Hynix expressed strong confidence that the current semiconductor supercycle (prolonged boom) will continue for an extended period. The company explained, "Our focus on high bandwidth memory (HBM) production structurally limits the overall DRAM supply increase, as the expansion of DRAM cleanrooms and production capacity is inherently restricted." SK Hynix emphasized that the current semiconductor supercycle is "different" from the boom period of 2017-2018, noting, "The biggest difference is the emergence of new sources of demand, driven by the expansion of artificial intelligence (AI), which did not exist previously." The company further stated, "Fundamental changes in memory demand are being led by new applications such as autonomous driving and robotics, which did not exist before." Additionally, it pointed out, "The spread of AI inference is driving demand not only for AI servers but also for general servers, thereby fueling the overall expansion of the memory market."
