First, it was confirmed that the Gyeonggi Defense Venture Center will be established in Pocheon. The center is scheduled to open within the Industry-Academia Cooperation Foundation at Daejin University in March 2026 and will be operated with an annual budget of 1 billion won. It will comprehensively support the growth of local defense companies through assistance in defense technology development and project discovery, business development and export support, provision of public contest information, and exhibition and marketing connections.
The Naechon-myeon Rural Space Improvement Project will invest a total of 12.9 billion won over five years until 2029 to renovate community sports and cultural spaces and resident autonomy functions in the Wangsukcheon area, as well as improve aging and unused facilities. The city aims to implement a "safety and residential-type improvement model" that simultaneously enhances disaster response capabilities and daily convenience.
In the environmental sector, the city will launch a project to install a solid fuel facility for cattle manure. From 2026 to 2029, a total of 38.35 billion won will be invested to build a facility on a 16,344-square-meter site at 712-1, Yeongsong-ri, Yeongjung-myeon, which will process 130 cubic meters of cattle manure per day and produce 53.6 cubic meters of solid fuel daily. The city plans to sequentially carry out procedures such as the local finance investment review in January 2026 and the signing of a work consignment agreement in March of the same year, aiming to simultaneously achieve livestock manure treatment, resource recycling, and carbon reduction, thereby establishing a sustainable environmental foundation.
In the education sector, the city will promote the creation of "Dasi School," a school complex facility that will repurpose the former Geumju Elementary School as a hub for learning and relaxation for residents and children. With a total project cost of 13.15 billion won, the facility will be developed from October 2025 to September 2028 and will include indoor and outdoor complex spaces such as education and play experiences based on Korea Educational Broadcasting System (EBS) content, a community center, kitchen garden, and sensory forest trail. Follow-up procedures such as provincial investment review, local finance impact assessment, architectural planning, and detailed design are being carried out sequentially.
