Pukyong National University Opens Global Festival 'PKNU G·Uni-Festa·Week' for International Students
Pukyong National University (President Bae Sanghoon) held the opening ceremony of the global festival for international students, 'PKNU G·Uni-Festa·Week,' on October 24 at the Multipurpose Hall of Engineering Building 1.
With the theme "A Small Global Village Created by You, Me, and Us," this festival will run for seven days until October 30. It has been organized as a platform for cultural exchange where international students, domestic students, and the local community can come together.
Currently, Pukyong National University is home to 1,802 international students from 66 countries, including undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degree students, as well as exchange and dual degree students.

View original imageThe festival is co-hosted by the PKNU RISE Project Group and the Office of International Affairs, featuring a variety of programs under seven themes: Encounter, Connection, Exchange, Learning, Culture, Cooperation, and Unity.
At the opening ceremony on October 24, about 150 international students participated in recreational programs. On October 25, around 50 international students took part in the UN Peace Festival Parade held at Peace Park near the campus, showcasing their traditional attire.
In addition, international student associations from countries such as China, Vietnam, and Myanmar operated global booths for two days on October 25 and 26.
On October 27, a Korean language speech contest, talk concert, and Golden Bell quiz competition will be held. On October 28, a global gallery exhibition, lawn reading club, and film festival are scheduled to take place.
The PKNU Global Sports Day will be held on October 29, and on October 30, traditional performances and booth operations will be held in conjunction with the Academic and Cultural Festival.

President Bae Sanghoon stated, "I expect that this festival, where international students take center stage, will further vitalize global cultural exchange on campus," adding, "We will strive to create a global campus where international students can study and live comfortably."
