Gwangyang Steelworks Brings Smiles to Children with 3D Printing Technology
Talent Volunteer Group Operates Experience Booth at Youth Harmony Festival
The Youth Dream Doctor Volunteer Group, affiliated with POSCO Gwangyang Steelworks (led by General Manager Ko Jaeyoon), operated a 3D printing booth at the "2025 2nd Youth Harmony Festival" held on October 25 at the outdoor yard of the Gwangyang Kumho Youth Culture Center, bringing joy to local children.
Founded in 2024, the Youth Dream Doctor Volunteer Group is a talent-based volunteer organization comprised of engineers from Gwangyang Steelworks. Leveraging the technical skills they have developed in the field through equipment simulation and 3D modeling, the group repairs broken toys for children and creates new toys to give to them.

This provided children with an opportunity to enjoy themselves with their families while discovering the fun of science and technology.
In the "Beat the 3D Frog Experience Zone," children folded paper frogs and competed in a jumping contest against a 3D-printed frog, naturally learning how 3D printing technology can be used to create moving structures. Additionally, a video showing the operation and output process of a 3D printer was screened to help children easily understand the principles and applications of 3D printing technology.
In the "3D Keyring Coloring Zone," children were able to color 3D-printed figures of Poseokho (the POSCO mascot) and Maedori (the mascot of Gwangyang City). Meanwhile, the "Halloween Photo Zone" offered families the chance to create memories together using various props such as witch capes and hats.
Additionally, the "Safety First OX Quiz Zone" attracted attention by helping children learn everyday safety habits through a quiz based on POSCO's 10 major safety rules, which were adapted to be easily understood by children.
