Trump Again Claims "2020 Election Was Rigged," Urges DOJ Investigation
Again Criticizes Early and Mail-In Voting on Social Media
Donald Trump, President of the United States, once again claimed that the 2020 presidential election, in which he was defeated by former President Joe Biden, was a "rigged and stolen election," and urged the Department of Justice to launch an investigation.
On the 27th (local time), during his first trip to Asia since returning to office, President Trump posted on his social networking service, Truth Social, saying, "Which is worse: NBA players cheating in card games, or Democrats committing fraud in elections?"
This statement comes as investigative authorities recently uncovered a sports betting manipulation and gambling fraud case involving current and former NBA players. President Trump argued that the Democratic Party committed an even more serious crime by engaging in election fraud.
He said, "Look at what has happened to our country since the 'Crooked Moron' became president through the rigged and stolen 2020 election," and added, "I hope the Department of Justice will investigate this case with the zeal befitting the biggest scandal in American history. Otherwise, the same thing will happen again in the upcoming midterm elections."
President Trump also stressed, "We must ban mail-in and early voting and implement a voter identification system." In particular, after mentioning California, a stronghold of Democratic support, he said, "Watch how fraudulent the referendum in California is. Millions of ballots are being sent out. Republicans must wake up before it is too late."
