Gyeonggi Province to Provide 1 Million Won to 1,540 Newlywed Couples... Applications Open Until November 7
The Gyeonggi Provincial Government will provide 1 million won to ease the financial burden and support the livelihood stability of young newlywed couples.
On October 23, the Gyeonggi Provincial Government announced that although it had completed the recruitment of 2,650 couples in August, it has secured additional funding with the Gyeonggi Provincial Council to allow newlyweds marrying between September and December to apply as well. As a result, an additional 1,540 couples will be supported, and applications will be accepted from the 27th of this month until the 7th of next month.
Eligible applicants must meet all of the following criteria: both spouses must be registered residents of Gyeonggi Province; both must have been born between January 1, 1985, and December 31, 2006; they must have completed their marriage registration between August 30, 2025, and the application date, or plan to register their marriage by December 31; and their combined household income in 2024 must not exceed 80 million won. Korean citizens married to foreign spouses are also eligible to apply under the same conditions.
The Gyeonggi Provincial Government will select the final recipients based on factors such as the duration of residence in Gyeonggi Province over the past five years and the couple's combined income level in 2024, and plans to distribute the support funds in December.
