Daejeon City to Promote Semiconductor Industry at the 27th Semiconductor Exhibition 2025
Daejeon Pavilion to Operate at COEX in Seoul, October 22-24
Supporting Seven Local Companies
Daejeon, the central city of the semiconductor industry, will operate a joint Daejeon Pavilion at the '27th Semiconductor Exhibition (SEDEX) 2025', which will be held at KOEX (COEX) in Seoul from October 22 to 24. The goal is to promote the Daejeon semiconductor industry and support local companies in leading the global market.
'Semiconductor Exhibition (SEDEX) 2025' is hosted by the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association (KSIA) and is Korea's premier semiconductor exhibition. It features 280 companies presenting advanced technologies across 700 booths, covering all areas of the semiconductor industry, including memory semiconductors, system semiconductors, materials, components and equipment, facilities, and sensors.
At this exhibition, Daejeon City will set up a joint pavilion with seven local companies to promote the outstanding technologies of Daejeon-based firms and support business consultations, marketing, and investment attraction.
The participating companies are: ▲ Panesia (CXL memory expansion devices), ▲ Dongwoo Tech (semiconductor fab monitoring systems), ▲ Nano System (semiconductor measurement equipment), ▲ Picopack (semiconductor packaging modules), ▲ Korea Sensor Research Institute (semiconductors and sensors), ▲ Korea Nano Oat (semiconductor material synthesis technology), and ▲ Hesis (semiconductor equipment clamps). Through this joint pavilion, these companies are expected to expand their presence in both domestic and international markets.
In addition, the city plans to promote its semiconductor workforce training programs, centered around local universities. The KAIST Graduate School of Semiconductor Engineering, the Graduate School of Artificial Intelligence Semiconductors, Chungnam National University’s Semiconductor Specialized College, and Hanbat National University’s Semiconductor Specialized College are producing talent with innovative capabilities in all areas, including semiconductor devices, processes, design, and packaging.
The city will also introduce educational and research infrastructure, such as the Chungcheong Region Semiconductor Joint Research Institute (Chungnam National University), which is being established with a target completion date of 2028, and the industry-academia research and business support clean room at Hanbat National University, which will be completed in November this year.
