"Smart Biz Expo 2025" Opens at COEX
The Korea Federation of SMEs announced on the 21st that it will host the "Smart Biz Expo 2025" at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, for four days until the 24th. The event supports the exhibition of outstanding small and medium-sized enterprise products and market development for participants in the "Large and Small Business Win-Win Smart Factory Support Project."
Hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and co-organized by the Korea Federation of SMEs, Samsung Electronics, and others, the event brings together 81 small and medium-sized enterprises from various sectors-such as food and beverages, household goods, industrial products, and parts and materials-that have adopted smart factories. Through six themed exhibition halls, domestic and international buyer meetings, live commerce, and networking programs, the expo aims to help SMEs expand their market presence.

View original imageThe opening ceremony was attended by Noh Yongseok, Vice Minister of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups; Oh Giwoong, Executive Vice Chairman of the Korea Federation of SMEs; Park Seunghee, President of Samsung Electronics; Kim Kwan-young, Governor of North Jeolla Province; Heo Sungmoo, Assemblyman of the Democratic Party of Korea; and around 150 representatives from small and medium-sized enterprises.
As this event commemorates the 10th anniversary of Samsung Electronics' Smart Factory Support Project, the opening ceremony featured a review of the achievements of Samsung Electronics' support for SME smart factories over the past decade. The Ministry of SMEs and Startups then announced its policy, "Smart Manufacturing Innovation 3.0 Powered by AI," and, under the theme "AI Smart Factories: The Wings of Manufacturing Innovation," policymakers and business leaders discussed the future of manufacturing innovation together.
The Korea Federation of SMEs and Samsung Electronics have so far supported 2,549 smart factories with a total investment of approximately 159 billion won. Since last year, they have further contributed to SME manufacturing innovation by launching new initiatives, such as basic-level establishment projects in collaboration with local governments and food manufacturing projects in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
