Kia Holds Completion Ceremony for Kazakhstan CKD Plant

Mass Production of Sorento Begins
Annual Production Capacity Reaches 70,000 Units
On October 21 (local time), Kia held a completion ceremony for its CKD (Complete Knock Down) joint venture plant in Kostanay, Kazakhstan.
The ceremony was attended by Kia President Song Ho-sung, Kazakhstan First Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar, high-ranking local government officials, and partner company representatives. Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev participated in the event via video conference.
President Song stated, "The Kazakhstan CKD plant is part of Kia's global vision to create sustainable value through customer-centric innovation and electrification."
A total of 310 million dollars (441.9 billion won) was invested in the construction of the plant. The annual production capacity is approximately 70,000 units, and the total site area reaches 630,000 square meters.

Kia began mass production of the Sorento in line with the plant's completion ceremony and plans to produce the Sportage next year. Moving forward, the company aims to expand its production models according to local demand and the progress of localization efforts, thereby strengthening its presence in the Central Asian region.
