Man Spends 6 Million Won on Date with Japanese Idol... Shocked to Discover "Bodyguard" Was Her Husband
Found Out Later That Her Husband Was Present,
Fan Expresses Anger
A man in Japan spent 600,000 yen (approximately 566,000 won) for a "one-day date" with an idol, only to be shocked when he discovered that the "bodyguard" who accompanied them was actually the idol's husband.
On October 19 (local time), the South China Morning Post (SCMP) reported the story of Nino (an alias), a male fan from Tochigi Prefecture, Japan, who recently went on a date with underground idol Tozuki.

View original imageTozuki, known for her cute appearance and petite figure, is an idol with more than 80,000 followers on social networking services (SNS). She is considered an "underground idol," performing mainly at venues and online without the backing of a major entertainment agency. Nino, who has supported her for over four years, stated that he had spent millions of yen on photo books and merchandise.
In April, Tozuki proposed a "one-day date event at Disneyland" to her fans, and Nino participated without hesitation. He paid a total of 600,000 yen for the amusement park admission, meals, and photo sessions, and said he was promised that they would "spend the day together like a real couple."
"He said he was a bodyguard... but he turned out to be her husband"
On the day of the event, Tozuki told Nino that she had brought a bodyguard for safety and was accompanied by a man. Nino recalled, "The three of us rode attractions, had meals, and took photos together. It was a magical, dreamlike day."
However, a few days later, Nino found out through SNS that the man introduced as a "bodyguard" was actually Tozuki's husband. Nino expressed his anger, saying, "My favorite idol hid the fact that she was married and even brought her husband along. I was the one who paid for everything. I feel I was thoroughly deceived emotionally."
Tozuki apologizes: "Sorry for causing concern"
After Nino's story spread, online users criticized Tozuki, saying, "She exploited her fans for money," and "She deceived fans by hiding her marriage." As the controversy grew, Tozuki apologized via SNS, stating, "The event was held after I finished my idol activities and transitioned to being an influencer. I am sorry for causing concern to my fans." However, she did not comment on whether she was married.

SCMP analyzed, "In Japan, it is common for underground idols to remain single in order to maintain their fans' devotion. The no-dating rule energizes the business of selling purity and fantasy, but idols' private lives are strictly monitored."
