All drivers participating in the race used Kumho Tire's racing tires, delivering thrilling performances for the spectators.
All vehicles in the competition were equipped with the "ECSTA S700" racing tire, which provides outstanding grip and stable handling at high speeds, and the "ECSTA W701" racing tire, which ensures high performance and stability even on wet roads.
The "Kumho FIA TCR World Tour," held for the first time in Korea, featured intense competition among top drivers from around the world across three races. Major global automakers such as Audi, Honda, and Hyundai Motor Company participated in the event.
In particular, the fierce battle among top-tier touring cars-including the Audi RS 3 LMS TCR, Honda Civic Type R, and Hyundai Motor Company Elantra N TCR-captivated the audience.
In the first race, Joshua Buchan of the HMO Customer Racing Team, who was the TCR Australia Champion in both 2023 and 2024, achieved a pole-to-win victory, securing his first win at Inje.
In the second and third races, Mikel Azcona of the BRC Hyundai N Squadra Corse team and Thed Bjork of the Lynk & Co Cyan Racing team each claimed victory, becoming the stars of the fiercely competitive weekend races.
This event was particularly significant as it marked the first domestic race since Kumho Tire secured the title sponsorship for the "Kumho FIA TCR World Tour," the world's top touring car series, last year. It served as a meaningful stage, demonstrating that Kumho Tire's technology and performance are already at a global top-tier level.
Through this event, Kumho Tire reaffirmed its technological capabilities and brand status in the global motorsports market, and plans to continue strengthening its position as a premium tire brand on the world stage.
Yoon Minseok, Executive Director of G. Marketing at Kumho Tire, stated, "It is very meaningful for us to participate as an official partner in a world-class racing competition and to host the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour in Korea for the first time. This event proved that Kumho Tire's technology and quality are fully competitive on the global stage." He added, "We will continue to invest in technological development and enhancement of brand value through motorsports."
