Daegu Ilmeister High School Conducts Global Field Study in Germany: "Gaining Confidence in Korean Technical Education"
Daegu Ilmeister High School (Principal Kim Kyungil) announced on October 21 that it is conducting the "Germany Ausbildung-Linked Global Field Study" in Berlin and Frankfurt, Germany, from September 17 to November 10.
This program aims to provide students with world-class vocational education experiences and expand opportunities for them to grow as global Meisters. It is realizing a Korean-style global Meister model that is recognized locally in Germany.

This year, in addition to its existing partner institutions in Berlin-BEW and OSZ TIEM (vocational school)-the school newly visited Mainova (an energy company) and Arnold AG (a precision machinery processing company) in the Frankfurt region. This has expanded opportunities for industrial field experiences and broadened the scope of vocational education.
With the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Germany and the KOTRA Frankfurt Trade Center, students are gaining in-depth understanding of the local industrial structure, vocational education system, and labor environment. Through meetings with corporate experts and interviews with vocational school faculty, they are learning firsthand about the strengths of the German-style vocational education system, which combines theory and practice.
The students volunteered to teach Korean to Korean children at the Berlin Korean School, promoting the Korean language and culture. They also participated in Korean language classes for German adults at a local lifelong education institution. Additionally, they communicated with locals on various topics such as Korean dramas, music, and food, and served as assistants at events hosted by the Korean Cultural Center in Berlin to introduce Korean culture. At the "Traditional Taekwondo Center," they trained alongside local instructors, taking pride in Taekwondo’s Korean heritage.
Over the past seven years, Daegu Ilmeister High School has steadily strengthened its cooperative system with German Ausbildung institutions, establishing a unique field training model among vocational high schools in Korea. In particular, this year, the school expanded its cooperation from Berlin to Frankfurt, developing both "industry-centered field studies" and "education-centered exchange programs" in a balanced manner.
The participating students said, "Through hands-on training and cultural exchange in Germany, we gained confidence that Korean technical education can also succeed globally," and added, "We feel that we are truly growing as global Meisters through the process of learning each other's languages and cultures."

Principal Kim Kyungil emphasized, "The global field study at Daegu Ilmeister High School has established itself not as a simple overseas training program, but as an 'educational model that connects the world through technology.' Over the past seven years of continuous exchange, we have created a standard for vocational education that is recognized even in Germany. Moving forward, we plan to further expand global career opportunities for our students by collaborating with a wider range of institutions in Germany."
