"Love Food Boxes" Delivered to 200 Seniors in Gongju... Three Years of Warm Solidarity Continue
Public-Private Partnership Among Gongjumamdeul-ui Sarangbang, National Health Insurance Service, and Jooeun Lafas
Delivering Customized Nutrition and Daily Care for Seniors
A food box sharing event aimed at delivering "a warm meal" to underprivileged seniors in Gongju, South Chungcheong Province, was held at the Gongju branch of the National Health Insurance Service on October 21, 2025.
Public institutions and private organizations joined forces to provide nutritional food and care items to 200 seniors. Now in its third year, the "Love Food Box" campaign has established itself as a leading model for community care in the region.
The "Love Food Box" event is not just about providing goods; it is a "customized welfare project" designed to address the reality that many elderly individuals struggle even to secure regular meals.
This initiative is recognized as a model case of public-private cooperation aimed at reducing welfare blind spots in the Gongju area.
Each food box contained 11 types of food items, including dried anchovy broth, canned tuna, brown rice nurungji, mulberry juice, red bean bread, seaweed, protein drinks, senior nutritional porridge, noodles, mixed grain powder, and tofu snacks.
Notably, this year’s boxes also included a "care set"-comprising pain relief patches, non-slip socks, masks, and handkerchiefs-selected with seniors’ health in mind, which drew significant attention.
Geum Seungwon, manager of the Naver Cafe "Gongjumamdeul-ui Sarangbang," said, "The Love Food Box project was launched not simply as an act of sharing, but to deliver 'strength for life' to seniors. We hope the warmth of community solidarity will reach even those places untouched by public support."
