Seongsimdang, the iconic bakery representing Daejeon, will close all its stores, including the main branch, for one day on November 3.

View original imageSeongsimdang recently announced its plan for a one-day closure through an official notice on its social media platform, Instagram, stating, "Breaking news. All Seongsimdang stores will be closed for one day only on Monday, November 3, for our Family Sports Day."
Seongsimdang holds an annual "Family Sports Day" (company-wide athletic event) in which all executives and employees participate. During this period, every store, including the main branch, closes simultaneously. Last year, the event was held on October 14, and all stores were closed for the day.
This year, approximately 1,000 executives and employees from 12 affiliated companies, including the Seongsimdang main branch, Seongsimdang Cake Boutique, Piatto (Italian restaurant), Udongya (udon specialty restaurant), Flying Pan, Terrace Kitchen, and Oven Story, are expected to participate in the sports event.

Seongsimdang, which began as a small steamed bun shop in front of Daejeon Station in 1956, has now become a symbolic brand representing Daejeon. Its operating company, Rosso, recorded 193.7 billion won in sales and 47.8 billion won in operating profit last year.
