GS Engineering & Construction Achieves Zero Defect Judgments with AI Platform
On October 21, GS Engineering & Construction announced that it had achieved zero defect judgments over the past year through its defect prevention activities utilizing artificial intelligence (AI).
GS Engineering & Construction has established a virtuous cycle of defect prevention for multi-family housing by analyzing the causes of defects, setting design and construction standards, and implementing other preventive measures through its defect prevention platform.
In the second half survey announced this month by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Defect Review and Dispute Mediation Committee, GS Engineering & Construction recorded zero defect judgments. Having already achieved zero defect judgments in the first half of the year, the company has now maintained a defect-free record for a full year.
The defect prevention platform, which is an in-house developed AI platform, systematically organizes construction manuals, defect prevention guides by process, and major case studies based on an accumulated construction database. On site, this platform is used to monitor the recurrence of similar defects and to conduct project-specific preventive activities to minimize trial and error and respond quickly in the event of actual defects.
In particular, AI-based real-time Q&A enables immediate resolution of issues that arise during construction, and materials are provided in 3D rather than as documented training materials, making them easier to understand. It also helps explain procedures more clearly to foreign workers who may have difficulty with communication.

Meanwhile, GS Engineering & Construction is also actively engaging with residents by leveraging AI technology. Since last year, the company has been running the "Dear Xi-an" campaign for complexes in their first and second years of occupancy to strengthen communication with residents. In addition, it offers the "See First, Refresh" service, which involves proactively inspecting and repairing, when necessary, common areas such as landscaping, community facilities, and parking lots.
