Taebaek City to Start Influenza (Flu) Vaccinations Three Weeks Early
Free Vaccinations for Seniors Aged 65 and Older
Check Each Institution's Schedule Before Getting Vaccinated
Taebaek City in Gangwon Province (Mayor Lee Sangho) announced that, in order to ensure a healthy and safe winter for its citizens, the 2025 influenza (flu) vaccination program will begin on the 21st, three weeks earlier than the originally scheduled early November start date.
This measure was decided with the top priority of protecting public health, as the flu is expected to spread earlier than usual this year. Vaccinations will be administered sequentially at designated hospitals and clinics, the Taebaek City Public Health Center, and the Cheoram Health Branch.
Senior citizens aged 65 and older (born on or before December 31, 1960) can receive free influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations at designated hospitals and clinics from October 15, 2025, to April 30, 2026 (Thursday).
At the Cheoram Health Branch, free vaccinations will be provided on the 21st for vulnerable groups such as basic livelihood security recipients. Paid vaccinations (9,660 KRW) for Taebaek citizens aged 14 to 64 will be available from the 22nd to the 23rd.
The Taebaek City Public Health Center will offer free vaccinations on the 28th for vulnerable groups such as basic livelihood security recipients. Paid vaccinations (9,660 KRW) for citizens aged 14 to 64 will be available from the 29th until supplies run out.
