Seongnam to Conduct '2025 Population and Housing Census' from October 22, Targeting 83,032 Households
First Census in Five Years Since 2020
Foundational Data for Major Policy Formulation and Development
Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor: Shin Sangjin) announced on October 21 that it will conduct the '2025 Population and Housing Census' from October 22 to November 18.
This Population and Housing Census is a national statistical survey conducted for the first time in five years since 2020. Its purpose is to identify the size and characteristics of the population, households, and housing within the territory of the Republic of Korea, and to provide foundational data for major policy formulation and development.
The survey in the Seongnam area will target 83,032 households, which are part of the 20 percent nationwide sample.
The survey consists of a total of 55 items, including 42 items for on-site investigation-such as name, relationship to the head of household, religion, and level of education-and 13 items that will be replaced by administrative data.
The survey will be conducted through both internet/telephone and in-person interviews.
Eligible households can participate in the survey via the Population and Housing Census website or call center, using either the internet or telephone.
To facilitate this, guidance letters containing a QR code have already been sent by mail to the selected sample households.
