It will feature high-quality works that reinterpret the beauty of traditional Korean culture with a modern sensibility.
The exhibition will showcase 33 Sotdae works, including pieces that were featured at the Korea Wood Industry Expo held in August, as well as 33 Phoenix paintings, including 11 large-scale works by Phoenix artist Shin Kyungmi. These works are expected to leave a deep impression with their grand scale and symbolism.
In particular, the woodworking pieces by Yoon Heungkwan, the master of Jangseung and Sotdae woodworking and head of Churyeong Jangseung Village, will be displayed alongside large-scale Phoenix paintings by Shin Kyungmi, a master of Phoenix painting, demonstrating the highest level of artistic excellence in Korea.
Additionally, the exhibition will feature photographs documenting the 30-year history of the Churyeong Jangseung Festival, as well as a fusion Jangseung photo exhibition by artist Lee Ikdon, whose works are noted for their modern wit, humor, and sculptural beauty. This combination offers a unique artistic atmosphere where tradition and modernity coexist. Various genres of art-including Sotdae, woodworking, painting, and photography-will fill the autumn skies of Churyeong.
