Government Computer System Recovery Rate at 51.8%
Additional Restorations Include Volunteer Portal and Work Support Systems
Approximately half of the government’s computer systems that were suspended due to the fire at the National Information Resources Service (NIRS) Daejeon headquarters have been restored.
According to the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters (CDSCH), as of 6:00 p.m. on October 18, 367 out of 709 government computer systems had been restored. The recovery rate stands at 51.8%.
By classification, the restoration status is as follows: 31 systems in grade 1 (77.5%), 44 systems in grade 2 (64.7%), 149 systems in grade 3 (57.1%), and 143 systems in grade 4 (42.1%).
The newly restored systems on this day include: the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s 1365 Volunteer Portal (grade 2); the Ministry of Science and ICT’s Office Management Administrative Portal (grade 2); the Ministry of Science and ICT Headquarters’ Accounting Analysis (grade 4); the Public Procurement Service’s Work Support (grade 4); and the Ministry of Government Legislation’s Legislative Work Portal System (grade 3).

However, the CDSCH explained that some systems are still operating with limited services, including integrated search, internal messenger, and past accounting analysis functions.
