Pothole Forms Near Namyangju IC on Seoul Metropolitan Area First Ring Expressway, Damaging Tires of 23 Vehicles
A pothole formed on the Seoul Metropolitan Area First Ring Expressway in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province, causing tire damage to approximately 20 vehicles.
According to Korea Expressway Corporation and other sources on October 18, at around 11 p.m. the previous day, a pothole appeared in the third lane between the Guri-Namyangju Tollgate and Namyangju Interchange on the Seoul Metropolitan Area First Ring Expressway in Donong-dong, Namyangju. The pothole was found to be about 1 meter in diameter and 20 centimeters deep, caused by rainfall.
A total of 23 vehicles passing through this section suffered tire damage and other losses, and two drivers sustained minor injuries.

Korea Expressway Corporation stated that the road was repaired about two hours after the incident and announced plans to compensate the affected vehicles.
