Hongcheon County to Host 2nd National Trekking Competition on Korea's First Forest Road
Hongcheon County in Gangwon Province (Governor Shin Youngjae) announced on the 17th that the 'Korea's First Forest Road (1968) 2nd National Trekking Competition' will be held on the 19th in the Myeoneuri Gogae area of Sangoan-ri, Hongcheon County.

View original imageThe event is hosted by the Hongcheon County Mountaineering Federation (President Shin Dongbok) and sponsored by Hongcheon County, Hongcheon County Council, Hongcheon County Sports Association, Hongcheon County Cultural Foundation, and Gangwon Domin Ilbo. Around 500 mountain and trekking enthusiasts from across the country are expected to participate.
This competition marks its second edition following last year. Through this event, Hongcheon County aims to highlight the historical significance of Korea's first forest road, established in 1968, and promote the county's appeal as a sports tourism destination that utilizes its pristine natural environment and forest resources.
