Content Featuring Tourist Attractions and Landmarks Created with AI Technology
Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province is accepting early registrations for the "2025 Hwaseong Special City AI Contest - Hwaseong Wasseong" until November 2, 2025.
The contest, held under the theme "My Hwaseong, Completed with AI," invites participants to submit content created using AI technology based on videos or images they have personally taken at major tourist attractions or landmarks in the city.
Anyone residing in South Korea is eligible to participate. The total prize pool amounts to 60 million won, with the grand prize winner receiving 10 million won. This is the largest prize pool among contests organized by local governments.
To boost participant interest, the city explained that it will operate an early registration system with prize giveaways. Fifty early registrants will be selected by lottery to receive coffee gifticons, and two participants who complete their final submissions will be randomly chosen to receive fourth-generation AirPods.
Early registration can be completed on the contest website. The main registration deadline is November 16, 2025, following the end of early registration. The city will conduct a review and public verification process for all submissions, select the winners, and hold an awards ceremony in December.
