View original imageOn October 17, at around 9 a.m., a body was found near Dongmakgyo Bridge on Jungnangcheon in Uijeongbu-si, Gyeonggi-do, following the disappearance of a middle school student at Jungnangcheon on October 13.
Authorities are working to confirm whether the body is that of the middle school student who went missing after being swept away by rising waters at Jungnangcheon in Uijeongbu-si on the afternoon of October 13.
The body was discovered near Dongmakgyo Bridge on Jungnangcheon, approximately 200 meters from the point where the student went missing.
Previously, at around 5:35 p.m. on October 13, two middle school students fell into Jungnangcheon in Uijeongbu-dong, Uijeongbu-si. One was rescued, while the other was swept away by the current and went missing.

Authorities have deployed a total of 339 personnel from related agencies, including fire and police departments as well as military forces, along with 49 pieces of equipment such as drones, rescue dogs, and boats. The search has been conducted along the river section from the vicinity of Balgok Station, where the student went missing, toward Seoul, up to Sangdogyo Bridge in Jangam-dong, Uijeongbu-si.
