While Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province has previously demonstrated outstanding performance on individual SNS channels, this year it received the highest honor in the category that comprehensively evaluates overall SNS management, proving its balanced communication capabilities across all channels.
The Korea SNS Awards, organized by the Korea Social Content Promotion Association and sponsored by the Ministry of Science and ICT, is the most prestigious award in the country. It comprehensively evaluates the use of social networking services (SNS) and communication capabilities to select and honor outstanding public institutions and companies. This year, 118 institutions across 12 categories, including government ministries and metropolitan and local governments, competed fiercely for the awards.
Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province was highly praised for establishing an organic online collaboration and promotion model that differentiates it from other public institutions through "Gangwon Connect" and for its active communication through a variety of content and campaigns on diverse topics.
In particular, its customized operational strategies tailored to each platform-such as joint "Infeed Flowing" projects and real-time story features-were cited as major reasons for the award, as they effectively helped spread content co-produced with the province's 18 cities and counties.
Since last year, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province has been actively building the "Gangwon Connect" system, discovering regionally distinctive content and promoting channel sharing among cities and counties. This has created an online promotional ecosystem where anyone can easily access news about Gangwon through various channels.
Governor Kim Jin-tae stated, "This award is the result of collaboration and communication with our cities and counties, a true 'One Team Gangwon' achievement," adding, "We will continue to strengthen online communication so that residents can truly feel Gangwon's transformation and progress."
