Kim Jongsul, Director of the Daegu Veterans Affairs Office, Koo Kyoseok, Principal of Gyeongbuk High School, school officials, and current students attended the ceremony, celebrating the 80th anniversary of liberation and sharing messages of patriotism to be delivered to future generations.
The time capsule, which will be opened on the 100th anniversary of liberation in 20 years, contains a variety of items selected by the students themselves, including videos and photos of current students, student council items, and a signed baseball from a Gyeongbuk High School alumnus who became a baseball player.
The "Time Capsule Sealing Ceremony Toward the 100th Anniversary of Liberation" is a youth veterans education program promoted by the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs in celebration of the 80th anniversary of liberation, and is being held at 100 schools nationwide this year.
