Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power's Hanul Nuclear Power Headquarters (Director Lee Seyong) announced, "At approximately 1:21 a.m. on October 15, the generator circuit breaker (GCB) at Hanul Unit 5 (1 million kW class) abnormally opened, resulting in a manual shutdown of the turbine."
The generator circuit breaker is a high-voltage breaker that connects the generator to the power grid.
