During the event, Pohang City plans to analyze domestic and international trends in the food tech industry, actively promote the achievements of attracting the global certification body NSF and the groundbreaking of the Food Tech Research Support Center in July, and focus on expanding its international cooperation network.
On the second day, at the "Food Robot Conference," Pohang City, together with Gyeongbuk Technopark, KIRO, and POSTECH, will present innovative cases in the restaurant industry utilizing cutting-edge food technologies such as autonomous cooking robots and collaborative cooking devices.
In order to foster the food tech industry as a future strategic sector, Pohang City launched the Food Tech Industry Committee in September, bringing together public, private, academic, and research experts. The city is also systematizing a comprehensive plan for industry development and strategies to respond to national public projects.
Led by Lee Kiwon, President of the World Food Tech Council, as the chief policy advisor, the committee includes a wide range of experts from academia, industry, and research, such as POSTECH, the Korea Association of Robot Industry, and startup representatives.
