Discussing the Path to Peace in Boseong
Boseong County in South Jeolla Province announced on the 13th that the "2025 Jeonnam Peace Forum Invited by National Assembly Member Seo Younggyo," held on the 10th at the Boseong County Cultural and Arts Center, concluded successfully with the participation of over 700 county residents.
This forum was hosted and organized by the Jeonnam Inter-Korean Exchange Peace Center. It was established to reflect on the meaning of peace on the Korean Peninsula amid rapidly changing international circumstances and inter-Korean relations, as well as to explore practical measures at the regional level and the role of local governments.

View original imageDuring her lecture, Assemblywoman Seo Younggyo emphasized, "Peace is not a declaration but a process built in everyday life, and local governments can serve as the starting point." She highlighted the importance of decentralization and inter-Korean exchanges. She further praised Boseong County's leading role, saying, "It is very meaningful that Boseong County is the first in Jeonnam to put messages of peace and coexistence into practice."
The forum served as a platform for sharing a variety of opinions on how the central government, local governments, and residents can all become key players in the pursuit of peace. It also laid the groundwork for Boseong to become a practical hub for peace on the Korean Peninsula and cooperation in Northeast Asia.
